Urticaria
This can be quite a distressing condition for patients, with signs and symptoms involving itchy, red raised bumps across the skin. These can appear and fade over time, but commonly reoccur. Urticaria can sometimes be related to reactions to certain food, medications, or even contact with plants or animals. In 80% of cases, chronic urticaria can be attributed to an underlying form of auto-reactivity.
Angioedema
Signs and symptoms commonly associated with angioedema include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, and genitals. Angioedema can be caused by allergies, medications such as NSAIDS, and blood pressure tablets ACE-inhibitors.
